Driver: The Transportation Driver is responsible for the transportation of Day Programs Participants to and from Family Alliance, for regularly scheduled program hours. When vehicle maintenance is determined or mileage indicates need, driver will assist in scheduling and/or transferring buses to and from designated maintenance agent. A driver is responsible for keeping an organized binder and fully functional and equipped bus in order to provide safe transport for the consumer. This will involve being familiar with rules of the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Aide: The Transportation aide is responsible in assisting Day Programs participants during all phases of transport. The aide assists consumers on and off the buses. During transportation, the aide attempts to minimize stress, maximize socialization, and increase efforts to make the trip enjoyable. The transportation aide sees to all client needs and direct personal care during transportation including the use of gait belts and transfers. Effective observation and communication skills are necessary in order to relay observed consumer changes to day program or nursing staff. The aide is also responsible for the cleanliness of the bus interior and ensuring necessary safety equipment and supplies are in place.
Two positions. The Dayoom Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides quality direct personal care for program participants in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality. The CNA participates in consumer care planning, assists clients with activities of daily living, completes narrative documentation of assigned primary consumers, and completes consumer daily participation logs as assigned. Additionally the CNA participates in planning, preparing, implementing, and evaluating day room activities and may be called upon to assist in the kitchen when the Dietary Aide or Day Room Support staff are absent. This position is part time (30 hours/week) and one will be located at the Huntley location and one at the Woodstock location.
